Online poker room appoints new director of Partnerships and Affiliates

Online poker site, PokerStars, has announced today that Edward Ihre has been appointed as new Director, Partners and Affiliates. Ihre will develop the PokerStars global portfolio of affiliates and commercial partners, as well as identifying and optimising new growth opportunities.

Ihre is well qualified for an international role, having lived in Stockholm, where he worked for Ongame/Safeplay Ltd, and speaking Swedish, English and French fluently. The role with PokerStars will take Ihre to company headquarters on the Isle of Man. In charge of affiliates and commercial partners, he will be responsible for the delivery of traffic to PokerStars.com through a variety of on and offline marketing activities.

While at Ongame/Safeplay, Ihre redesigned and restructured its affiliate program, taking it from an unknown to the most recognised in the industry. Online poker rooms and affiliates were delighted as his work led to a ten-fold rise in new customers across five different online poker sites. Other achievements include two years as the Managing Director of Parbet Ltd in London.
