The team of four Spaniards will play professionally around the world

Everest Poker has formally announced the formation of Equipo Everest, the online poker room's first professional poker team.
This team will represent Spain in national and international poker tournaments across Europe, playing in events such as the European Poker Tour, the Irish Open, the World Heads of Poker, and others.
The new group's first outing was at the Spanish Poker Championship in Valladolid, Spain on 24 March 2007, followed up by an appearance at the European Poker Tour event in Monte Carlo on 25 March 2007.
Equipo Everest consists of four professionals: Francisco 'Pakito' Lopez, Guillermo 'DJ Guil' Gonzalez, Santiago 'TheCatalan' Torres, and Maria 'May!' Maceiras. These four dedicated Everest Poker players went through an arduous selection process and were reportedly chosen because of their dedication to the poker room as well as their playing abilities.
'The principal objective in creating our team was to come up with a group that best represents the philosophy of Everest Poker and bring that image to international poker tournaments,' said Rocío Castillo, marketing manager for Everest Poker in Spain.
