Casino Red lands in Huddersfield

Thursday 19th April 2007

Online mecca Casino Red has announced plans for its first land-based casino, which will please gamblers in Yorkshire, as management have plumped for a Huddersfield location.

If bosses are able to obtain a gaming licence, £5 million will be spent on converting the town's old Princess Cinema into a king-sized poker palace.

Casino Red plans to spread the new establishment over four floors with a poker den in the basement and the ground floor hosting blackjack and roulette tables as well as slot machines.

An 85-seater restaurant and bar will be situated on the first floor, while VIPs can schmooze on the top floor, which will be complete with chandeliers.

"Our concept is that we are not primarily about gaming - we want to offer a total night out," said Nicholas Boyes-Hunter, Casino Red founder. "I know that a lot of UK operators have made that claim recently, but we really mean it.

"The way the casino is being designed, people will be able to come in, enjoy live entertainment, fine dining, a few drinks with friends and not even encounter the gaming floor."
.
If all goes according to plan, a November opening date is on the cards and Casino Red fans all over the rest of the country will be glad to know that the first casino is being viewed by Boyes-Hunter as the first of many.
