Poker pros will be quaking in their proverbial boots when the PartyPoker World Open kicks off on April 27th as Roland 'Big Bad' De Wolfe returns to UK tables.
Bookies must also beware, as De Wolfe is the 20-1 favourite to triumph at the tournament after some impressive card-play on the global circuit.
Three Mills Studios in London will host the prestigious event, which will be launched with a celebrity table to start off proceedings.
This year promises to be a real bloodbath, with 72 players making up the strongest field in the tournament's history.
With a $7,000 buy-in and a prize pool exceeding $500,000, poker fiends will be battling it out for an estimated $200,000 winnings for the tournament champion.
A PartyBets.com spokesman said: "The odds suggest we are afraid of the 'Big Bad De Wolfe.' We wouldn't want to take a walk through the woods with Roland, but, then again he's more likely to challenge us to a marathon card session than eat us alive."
"Other big runners include Juha Helppi, Liz Lieu, Ian Frazer, Vicky Coren, the Hendon Mob, the Devilfish (another we wouldn't take a walk in the woods with) and Arshad Hussain, who has recently confirmed his participation."
The finals will be played on the evening of May 4th and will be aired on Channel Five later this year.
