PartyPoker.com Premier League Poker Sneak Peek

Preview of the $500,000 pro tourney available online

Friday 4th May 2007

PartyPoker.com and Matchroom Sport have announced that a sneak preview of PartyPoker.com Premier League Poker is now available online at: www.matchroompoker.com/promo.php.

The series, which gets underway in the UK on 22 May 2007, features 12 of the world’s best players playing in a unique league format for a $500,000 pot.

Each player bought in for $20,000, with PartyPoker.com adding $260,000. The field included Phil Hellmuth, Dave ‘The Devilfish’ Ulliott, Tony G, Andy Black, Kiril Gerasimov, Liz Lieu, Ian Frazer, Roland De Wolfe, Vicky Coren and many more.

“Premier League Poker featured a fantastic format filled with skill, twists and turns, great players and made for electric television,” commented poker pro Phil Hellmuth.

“It’s a totally different concept and will make great television,” added Dave 'The Devilfish' Ulliott. “It’s like a poker Big Brother. It sets a new bar for televised poker.”

After each player played six times, the leading four players advanced to the final table with the bottom four relegated. Players in fifth to eighth place played off in heads-up matches for the remaining two seats at the final table.
