Canadian poker ace Henry Tran has won the first ever Johnny Chan Poker Classic, walking out with $325,000 in prize money.
The final moments of the game saw Joe Corbett defeated in the heads-up, although he netted $200,000 for his efforts.
Tran always had the upper hand, sitting down to the final session with around $5 million worth of chips to Corbett's $3 million.
Host Johnny Chan asked Joe Corbett who would win, to which the quick-witted card sharp answered: "Henry said he would let me win since he's already famous." Torontan Tran responded: "I will show him the awe and shock of this game."
Tran played aggressively in the last stages of the game at the River Rock Casino Resort and he even went all-in at a few points, where Corbett had previously been controlling the game.
Tran's experience paid dividends and Corbett could only settle for second place.
