An illegal poker tournament at an American Legion post in Texas has been raided, because the organiser advertised it locally with his telephone number.
WAOI.com reports that police busted the tournament in the late hours of Thursday night at Post 399 on West Southcross.
Authorities deemed the poker game illegal because they claimed a trip to the World Poker Tournament in Las Vegas was offered as a prize.
Organiser Henry Garcia feels he has been victimised because of his links with World Poker Champion Richard Lee, who has recently been investigated by the police who froze his bank accounts.
Mr Garcia, who is the post commander, says he has been treated unfairly as he was very open about the poker tournament, posting an advert for the game and he even contacted city officials to try to get the go-ahead for the event, but never got a response.
"No one called. Tonight the sergeant came by. He said the vice commander didn't have my phone number. My phone number is in the ad. Everybody has it," he complained.
