Online Poker Room Launches Internet Casino

Microgaming provides software to help Scandinavian website where players call the shots

Thursday 21st June 2007

Online poker room Gnuf Ltd has announced the launch of its Internet casino site using Microgaming software to provide a new type of gambling experience with an emphasis on player-generated content.

Denmark’s Gnuf commenced operations as an online poker room earlier this year using Microgaming software and this latest partnership sees it offering players an inventory of over 300 games including the Hitman and Lara Croft slot series.

“Our main focus is our players and we want to provide them with the best gaming software available,” said Jonas Odman, Managing Dorector of Gnuf.

“Therefore, casino software from Microgaming was a natural choice for us when extending our offer to a full casino.”

The Malta-licensed operation has a highly experienced management team as it was founded by a group of former Ongame executives and has enjoyed growing popularity in the Scandinavian and Nordic markets. The site’s community area already features a blog, forum, news and media downloads and has been popular with players.

“Gnuf has quickly established itself as one of Europe’s most entertaining gaming sites and the move to add a casino will undoubtedly strengthen their position,' said Roger Raatgever, Chief Executive Officer of Microgaming.

'After working together for the last six months on poker, we are of course happy that Gnuf recognise the quality of service we provide and has chosen our software for its casino.”
