eCOGRA to Provide Online Gambling Fairness Testing

As the industry focuses on standards eCOGRA offers new hope

Tuesday 8th May 2007

Stringent fairness testing of online casino and poker sites is now available from the eCommerce and Online Gambling Regulation and Assurance body (eCOGRA). Reports will follow continuous monitoring and data analysis by the organisation’s Total Gaming Transaction Review (TGTR) team.

Andrew Beveridge, the CEO of eCOGRA said. “These dedicated resources will allow us greater flexibility to meet the dynamic demands of the industry, but more importantly the requirement for safe and fair gaming from the player community.”

One hundred and thirty of the top online casinos and poker rooms are expected to display the multilingual reports, with more to follow as eCOGRA has expanded the test facility as an independent commercial service for any operator wishing to validate their site. The testing and certification process includes monthly poker card shuffling reviews and payout percentage reports on all games as well as bi-annual reports on blackjack, video poker and roulette.

Other levels of security come from stringent criteria that must be met before a site is eligible for assessment by the TGTR team – all companies providing software to the sites must also undergo eCOGRA validation. In addition, the TGTR team will itself be audited by KPMG.
