Gambling expert I. Nelson Rose provides the keynote address at this year’s ninth annual event

April 23, 2007 (St. Charles, MO) – River City Group, organizers of the Global Interactive Gaming Summit and Expo (GIGSE) to be held June 5-7 at the Palais des Congres in Montreal, are pleased to announce that renowned gambling expert I. Nelson Rose will provide the keynote address at this year’s ninth annual event.
Professor I. Nelson Rose is an internationally-known scholar, public speaker and writer and is recognized as one of the world's leading authorities on gambling law. A 1979 graduate of Harvard Law School, he is a tenured full Professor at Whittier Law School in Costa Mesa, Calif., where he teaches one of the first law school classes on gaming law. He is best known for his internationally-syndicated column “Gambling and the Law.” Rose is also co-editor-in-chief of the Gaming Law Review.
Due to his insight and awareness of the industry, Professor Rose has consulted such organizations as the Congress of State Lotteries of Europe, National Academy of Sciences and the National Conference of State Legislatures. He has also been a major contributor to law firms, Indian tribes, licensed casinos, international corporations and state and national governments.
His keynote address will describe how the industry has evolved to the shape it takes today and what the industry timeline is expected to reveal. In this lecture, Professor Rose will also discuss current developments throughout the world, including attempts by countries to keep out foreign online operators.
