Ryder Cup Odds from Online Sportsbook

Online Casino News Feature: NFL Preview

Tuesday 5th September 2006

With the Ryder Cup teams starting to take shape before the tournament starts at the K-Club, Ireland, at the end of this month, some of the leading online sportsbooks are posting odds on the eventual winners, with Europe looking a strong bet to retain the title it won so comprehensively last time.

It seems that in spite of Team USA boasting the top three players in the world at present – Tiger Woods, Phil Mickelson and Jim Furyk – pundits are clearly spooked by their inclusion of four Ryder Cup debutants.

On the other hand, the Europeans have adopted an experienced line-up, including Ryder Cup veterans Jose Maria Olazabal and Colin Montgomerie, along with the likes of Lee Westwood, Sergio Garcia and Darren Clarke, all of who were on the winning side last time out.

At present, Europe’s odds are 4/5 at BET365, BetDirect and Coral, whilst BetFred, Paddy Power and SkyBet are offering 8/11 for a European victory.

Team USA’s odds are currently at 5/4 across the board, with Ladbrokes and William Hill offering slightly shorter odds at 6/5.
