Germany’s Maik Andre Daehling Wins Pokerface 2007

The 30-year-old won the main event in his first ever live game

Monday 21st May 2007

30-year-old Titan Poker player Maik Andre Daehling from Germany, won the Pokerface 2007 tournament, which took place at the Binion's Gambling Hall in Las Vegas.

A Hamburg resident, Daehling makes his living as a freelance journalist, working for a small daily in his home town. The excitement of the Pokerface 2007 tournament was twofold for Daehling, as it turned out to be both his first trip to the USA as well as his first ever live game.

Gaining experience by his regular game play at Titan Poker, he finished first in Titan Poker's Pokerface Titanium Diamond Tournament, picking up a seat at the Pokerface 2007 main event in Las Vegas.

Daehling’s win in the main event scooped him a $200,000 professional poker player package which includes tournament buy-ins around the world in the sum of $100,000, travel expenses amounting to $30,000 and a salary of about $70,000. In addition, Daehling will represent Titan Poker at the forthcoming World Series of Poker.

'Today has changed my life, I still can't believe it,' he said after being named as the ‘World's Best Poker Player’, the titled bestowed on him by the organisers of Pokerface 2007.
