Orangemen showcased in poker tourney
Monday 30th July 2007
PartyPoker's Dutch Open poker tournament will see 36 top poker pros from the Netherlands descend on London between August 11th and 14th to try their hands to scoop part of a 117,000 euro prize pool.
The Dutch will cough up 2,500 euros for the buy-in, with the Dutch Open tournament winner pocketing 50,000 euros.
The live tournament will feature the Dutch poker faces of Rob Hollink, who is a well-known name in Europe and Rolf 'Aces' Slotboom who cashed in impressively at this year's World Series Of Poker's (WSOP) Main Event.
Meanwhile among the orangewomen will be Eindhoven's Milly Uylenbroek, who has impressed at the ladies event at 2007's WSOP.
Team Veronica Poker will also feature, with a strong side of respected Dutch poker pros and poker-mad celebrities.
A PartyPoker spokesman said: "Dutch players are a major force in the poker world and this is a great way to showcase their talents. We're delighted to be sponsoring this tournament but we decided not to insist on orange felt on the table. After all, the orange and dark orange chips were the subject of a lot of debate at the WSOP. We're not sure if it is the favourite colour of poker players other than main event winner Jerry Yang at the moment, even if the player is Dutch!"
