World Poker Congress Presents Industry Heavyweights

Steve Lipscomb and Jeffery Pollack to deliver keynote address at WPC

The World Poker Congress (WPC) is scheduled for November 29th and 30th at the luxurious Westin Dragonara Resort at St. Julian’s in Malta, only a short walk from the local Casino. The event is describing itself as:

“The only event to examine the synergy between the traditional land-based poker rooms and the online poker industry.”

Both Steve Lipscomb and Jeffery Pollack are delivering keynote addresses, and their industry credentials are impeccable.

Jeffery Pollack is perhaps the better known, being the Commissioner for the World Series of Poker (WSOP), but Steve Lipscomb, who will be the first to speak, is experienced in the production and filming of such events. “On the Inside of The World Series of Poker” was produced and directed by Lipscomb for the Discovery Channel in 1999 and has been credited with helping to launch the now widespread televising of poker, much of which he has also produced.

Discussions will also include the motivation of affiliates, mobile poker, hosting world-wide events and synergies with online partners to name but a few. Tournament structures will also be analysed; a hot topic following the controversy over this year’s WSOP events.

Everest Poker a sponsoring a cocktail reception, but others are still being sought, including the ‘Title Sponsor’, and lunch, name badge, delegate gift and bag sponsors.
