Two people wound up getting shot at Caesars Palace Hotel & Casino at the weekend, after eight punters got into a fight over a woman.
An argument began between two groups of four people at the casino after a man made a derogatory remark about one of the others' girlfriends at around 4am, according to reports.
When one of the men got knocked down in the scuffle, he left the scene, went to the car park and returned with a gun.
Richard Earl Shepherd allegedly opened fire as he stepped out of a lift, hitting one man in the knee and another twice in the arm, although both have since been released from hospital.
Shepherd has so far evaded capture and police warn that the 34-year-old has an extensive criminal history.
Officer Ramon Denby of the Las Vegas Police said: "Investigators are now in the process of reviewing surveillance tape and talking to witnesses," adding that five people had been detained for questioning.
