The Venetian Macao Resort Hotel is not only the biggest building in Asia and the second-largest in the world, it also houses the biggest casino in the world.
At a cost of $2.4 billion, the 10.5 million-square-foot Venetian Macau casino could accommodate 90 jumbo jets if it was so inclined.
The Venetian offers players 3,400 slot machines, which could expand to 6,000, and over 800 gambling tables.
It has 3,000 suites, which is 25 per cent of all of Macau's hotel rooms, plus a 15,000-seat sports arena. As well as 1.2 million square feet of convention space, the casino complex offers space for 350 shops and boasts a show produced by the acclaimed Cirque du Soleil.
Not only that, but the architecture is stunning, mixing Venice with China. Chinese sampans will sail down canals, mingling with gondolas as they go. The complex also has a replica of Venice's St. Mark's Square.
The casino is the second complex opened by is Las Vegas Sands in Macau within four years and meccas there are already making more money than the famous Las Vegas strip.
Owner Sheldon Adelson said he plans to open even more hotels with casinos in the future in the region by 2010.
