Las Vegas premiere of new Burt Reynolds movie suffers last minute delay
Friday 28th September 2007
The premiere of a new film starring Burt Reynolds and Shannon Elizabeth entitled Deal has been postponed after rumours that the editing process wasn’t finished.
The new movie tells the story of a former poker player played by Reynolds who tutors a younger player played by Bret Harrison with both finding victory in the sport competing against each other in a surprise finale.
Filmed in downtown Las Vegas, it was set to run on Monday at a gala opening in the Brenden theatres at the Palms Resort Casino following weeks of advance advertising and marketing including a special timeshare tie-in with Elizabeth for Consolidated Resorts and dozens of invitations for California motorists.
The drama features a number of professional poker players and poker-playing celebrities including Phil Laak, Antonio Esfandari, Chris Moneymaker, Jennifer Tilly, Charles Durning and Vincent Van Patten.
Officially, the premiere was cancelled due to ‘studio requirements’ and has been re-scheduled according to the studio for sometime between late-November and early-January.
