Internet gambling site makes a sizeable late donation to fundraiser

Online casino Gaming Club stepped in at the last minute to rescue a charity event that has now raised £400,000.
The internet betting site, run by Carmen Media, donated a Landrover and driver after the Caudwell Charity cycle challenge looked in jeopardy following withdrawals. The car provided support for the participants, who were raising money for sick, disabled and terminally ill children, on their 2,300 mile round trip from London to Athens.
John Caudwell of the Caudwell Group heaped praise on the online casino: “Without Carmen Media, this entire trip would have been in jeopardy and so we’re delighted they stepped forward when the appeal went out for support.”
The annual fundraiser aims to provide specialist medical equipment, treatments and therapies across the UK. Tim Johnson, of Carmen Media, was just happy to help: “The amount raised is just fantastic and to be able to say that we were an active part in raising such a sum is a great feeling.”
