Branson may add terrestrial casinos to his business portfolio
Monday 15th November 2004
Ten weeks ago Branson set up his own online casino and now he is said to be in talks with major casino operators about getting the Virgin brand appearing on the new super-casinos, if the controversial Gambling Bill is passed.
The Bill which is set to legalise large-scale Vegas like casinos in the UK will enable Branson to expand his business empire further into the Gambling world. There is speculation he could set up a joint-venture company, similar to the one he has with Singapore Airlines which owns 49 per cent of Virgin Atlantic, or Virgin could take a royalty for lending its name to a casino run by an approved operator.
