Online Players Share Bad Beat Jackpots at UltimateBet

Over $780,000 awarded in two separate payouts

Wednesday 31st October 2007

The requirements haven’t shifted – to qualify for the Ultimate Bet Bad Beat Jackpot you have to lose a hand with quad 8’s or better. A major difference about this bonus compared to other Bad Beat prize pools though is that all poker players at the bad beat tables of the limit get a piece of the prize when the jackpot hits.

Well, UltimateBet had to pay out twice within four hours this week. The jackpot was announced as approaching $600,000 and less than a day later, a total of $782,278.68 was won on the site.

First up came quad eights being beaten by quad aces on a Texas Hold’em table. The ‘unlucky’ player won a little over $200K, an additional $100 went to the guy with the four aces, and the seven other players at the tabled netted $2,366 each. The other 62 online players at the same limit won $1,366 each.

Those who felt they would have to wait long for another payout were proved wrong when, less than four hours later, the jackpot was triggered again at $158,984. This time the player with the losing hand won $51,670, with the rest going to the other 182 players who were logged in on the qualifying tables.
