Still Time to Enter the Great British Poker Championship
Mind you, the competition is a bit stiff…

Waking up as a champion is what a lot of poker players aspire to – that and/or waking up to untold piles of cash. If you’re more title-orientated, there’s a tournament in Bristol coming up which might just tickle your fancy.
The inaugural title of Great British Poker Champion would look good on anyone’s poker CV, right? The likes of Roland de Wolfe, Ram Vaswani, Barny Boatman and Joe Beavers seem to think so, as they announced their entries into the £2,500 + £50 event which is due to be held at the Gala Casino Harbourside, Bristol, from November 8 – 11.
On top of the year’s player rankings with WPT and EPT successes already on his resume, Roland de Wolfe is flying the flag as ‘Best of the British’ right now, along with WSOP bracelet winner Ram Vaswani. Ram’s mates from The Hendon Mob, Joe Beavers and Barny Boatman will be joining the hunt for the title. There’s the small matter of some reasonably well known Americans who are coming over to play too. Anyone heard of Esfandiari? Laak? Williamson III? Jamie Gold? Neither have we.
The winner will also have the chance to represent the UK pro scene by being given a main event package for the Bellagio Five Diamond Classic in December. Runner up will be off to the Aussie Millions, and third will be off to an EPT event of their choice.
