2008 Great British Poker Tour Schedule is Announced

CelebPoker League is now underway with a massive prize pool of more than €612,000 in prize money to be won through their new Poker League

The UK poker circuit has seen a swelling in the number of events spread by some of the new tours which have sprung up in the past few years. Last year saw the debut of the Great British Poker Tour, and it was judged to be a successful addition to the UK calendar. Now the dates for the 2008 Great British Poker Tour have been announced.

One of the reasons why the GBPT has been so successful so far is the sheer value it offers. Not many poker tournaments on British soil offer 10,000 starting chips and a one hour clock for £550. For this reason alone the tour has attracted both keen amateurs and pros alike. They’ve even split Day 1 into two tiers, allowing more of us to get in on the action.

The winner of each event will win an all expenses paid trip to the Grand Final in Bristol, where they will come up against defending champion Joe Beevers. ‘The Elegance’ commented 'I really enjoyed playing the Gala Casinos British Poker Tour events all over the UK last year and will be playing the tour in 2008 trying to defend my title. I will be in Edinburgh when the tour kicks off again in February - with fellow Mobster, Barny Boatman, who'll be trying to go better than his third place finish in the Grand Final at Bristol.'
