Over 8,000 players took part the PokerStars.com Millions event this weekend producing major prizes

Online poker room PokerStars.com announced that a record entry field of 8,063 registered players took part in its Millions tournament over the weekend.
The Isle of Man-based site revealed that the high turnout produced major prizes and was won by Australian player ‘s0stndrd’. The first-place finish was worth $160,102.98 and was won after the canny player did a two-way deal with his heads-up opponent from the United States, ‘vm1124’, who pocketed $150,000.
Other significant wins on the website included ‘TheKaas’ from America who collected a cheque for $96,352.96 after winning the PokerStars Sunday Warm-Up in another two-way deal with fellow finalist and countryman ‘KidWonder’ on $80,000. In addition, Norwegian player ‘Nordlending’ won the $100,000 top prize in the PokerStars.com $5,200 Freezeout event.
The tournament saw many of the Internet's top poker players vying for prizes including Norwegian teenager Annette Obrestad. ‘Annette_15’ finished the PokerStars.com Sunday Hundred Grand $20,000 richer after a strong performance against a field of approximately 20,000 other players.
