Danny K has won the 2008 All Africa Poker (AAP) Celebrity Charity Challenge and chose to donate the money he won to building a new creche.
Winning R100,000, big-hearted Danny K donated all the money to his charity, Foundation of Love in Katlehong to help create a safe and caring environment for children.
After finishing Kurt Darren off in the head's up, Danny was feeling in a charitable mood and no one could have been more pleased than the Foundation of Love, but his opponent was not to be outdone and also donated his R30,000 second prize to the Walter Sisulu Paediatric Centre.
Piggs Peak Casino in Swaziland saw 11 Southern African celebrities and poker fans trying to win money for charity, including Colin Moss, Elana Afrika, Neil Andrews, Minki Van der Westhuizen, Darren Scott, Conrad Koch and Ed Jordan.
Mr Jordan managed to secure third place and promptly donated his R20,000 prize to Tapologo Aids Hospice.
Wendy Graaf, group marketing manager of Piggs Peak, said: "With the stakes being raised in true Piggs Peak style, this year's AAP Celebrity Charity tournament lived up to its promise of being exciting and highly entertaining.
"This event saw lots of fun, camaraderie and banter with all of the celebrities and media players joining in, to make this a huge success, especially with this volatile combination of comedians, singers and beautiful women."
The action will be shown on the All Africa Poker Channel from the end of April 2008.
