Forrest and Seidel Make It To The Final Table
The final nine became six; the televised table of the WPT Foxwoods Classic is set
Wednesday 9th April 2008
Day Five saw the remaining nine players take to the felt to decide the six who would have their moments of fame. For two of them, they had been there and done it all before, but it didn’t stop Erik Seidel and Ted Forrest from marching on to the WPT stage.
Seidel began the day as chip leader, and was joined by rising internet star Adam Katz at the top of the chip counts:
Seat 1: Erik Seidel — 2,472,000
Seat 2: Frank Cieri — 577,000
Seat 3: Robert Richardson — 719,000
Seat 4: Michael Farris — 312,000
Seat 5: Natale Kuey — 525,000
Seat 6: Ted Forrest — 1,682,000
Seat 7: Andrew Barta — 1,433,000
Seat 8: Adam Katz — 2,190,000
Seat 9: Allen Bari — 530,000
Michael Farris was first out when he couldn’t chase down the pocket sevens of Richardson with his Ks-Ts. Eighth went to Allen Bari, who managed to get his short stack into the middle with AQ. However the pocket kings of Andrew Barta were in front, and when the doorcard king was accompanied by a pair of fours on the board, Bari was drawing to a minor poker miracle.
The television bubble boy turned out to be Natale Kuey who moved all in with As-Kh. He was covered by Forrest, who called with pocket sixes. Forrest made a set on the turn and a full house on the river, taking the pot and bursting Kuey’s hopes of a WPT televised tabled spot.
The seating and chip counts for the final six are as follows:
Seat 1: Erik Seidel — 3,820,000
Seat 2: Frank Cieri — 403,000
Seat 3: Robert Richardson — 526,000
Seat 4: Ted Forrest — 2,347,000
Seat 5: Andrew Barta — 1,522,000
Seat 6: Adam Katz — 2,311,000
