Online Casino Offering Poker Bounty
AbsolutePoker.com launches Assassin Bounty Tournaments with extra prizes for victorious players
Monday 14th April 2008
Online casino AbsolutePoker.com has announced the launch of its Assassin Bounty Tournaments where players earn money for knocking out other contestants.
The Kahnawake-licensed online poker site stated that its new Tournaments are just like regular Texas Hold’em matches but with an additional buy-in that is then released to the player skilled enough to knock a fellow competitor out.
“This is online poker action to die for,” said David Clainer, Senior Vice-President for AbsolutePoker.com.
“Just as we did with the introduction of bad beat jackpot, we’re making it easier for players to profit big from Texas Hold’em without necessarily finishing in the money.”
Clainer stated that since each tournament puts a price on every player’s head, it’s easier for online poker contestants to cash in without necessarily winning a game.
Topping the list for the new series is a $209 Texas Hold’em tournament on Saturdays with a guaranteed seat on the line for the upcoming main event at the World Series of Poker.
Of the buy-in, $100 goes to the prize pool while nine dollars goes to the house as an industry-standard tournament fee with the remaining $100 reserved for the bounty. Every time the winner of a hand knocks a player out, they’ll secure the $100 bounty attached to that player’s head. The site stated that, with hundreds of online poker players seated in a typical tournament, the opportunity to win thousands of dollars is plentiful.
In addition to the Saturday events, AbsolutePoker.com stated that it has also launched Bounty Tournaments with lower buy-ins scheduled throughout the week.
