Chorny leads EPT: Grand Final
Thursday 17th April 2008
Glenn Chorny is the European Poker Tour (EPT) Grand Final's chip leader with just one day left to be played in Monte Carlo.
Chorny has almost eight times as many chips as short stack Henrick Winner, with 3,370,000 compared to 466,000.
He is also more than a million ahead of Isaac Baron, who lies second with 2,365,000.
Michael Martin is third with 1,570,000 chips, followed by Maxime Villemure on 1,220,000 and Denes Kalo, who has 957,000.
Antonio Esfandiari is the last of the really big names in the tournament, after Freddy Deeb and Joe Hachem failed to make the cut.
He lies in sixth after losing a couple of big pots to the Canadian chip leader.
Had things gone to schedule, these players would perhaps make up the final table. However, due to the action taking too much time yesterday, organisers decided to shorten the day, leaving ten people in the contest.
