Chorny makes POY top ten
Monday 21st April 2008
Glen Chorny has managed to make it in to the top ten of Card Player's player of the year (POY) rankings following the competition's latest update.
Chorny scored 2,400 points for winning the European Poker Tour Grand Final in Monte Carlo last week, which was enough to enter him into the POY list for the first time in his short career.
The Canadian is tied with Tim Vance and Gavin Griffin, but is a significant distance away from the top spot, currently held by Erik Seidel on 3,700.
Michael Binger and Michael McDonald make up the rest of the top three.
Had Chorny's big win come earlier in the season, it is likely that he would have had a spell at the top, however, at this stage of the year one huge victory is not enough to put a player in the number one spot.
Seidel has won a World Poker Tour title this year, as well as finished runner-up at the Aussie Millions.
