Rising Fuel Costs See More Casino Players Move Online

Friday 9th May 2008

While it seems crazy that any sector should benefit from the recent rise in the price of oil, it seems that more and more casino visitors in the States, and other areas of the world, are moving online in order to save costs. Can this really be true?

When you consider that a barrel of oil is now trading at upwards of $120 it does not take a genius to see that all areas of society and business are struggling to cope with cost increases. Fuel costs are directly related to the price of oil and these filter through into the retail and business market with customers having to foot more and more of the cost rises.

It therefore makes sense that more and more casino players are choosing to log on and join up from the comfort of their own home, able to play the games as and when they want to, with simple finance options to hand. While it is difficult to replicate the atmosphere and tension you feel on the casino floor, it seems that more and more people are keen to sample the online experience.

Can the traditional casinos fight back? What can they do to stop the loss of customers?
