Womens Poker Takes The Spotlight

While you could be forgiven for thinking that all of the high profile Poker tournaments are dominated by the men, this is not the case!

Ladies Poker has been one of the fastest growing areas of the sport for some time and it seems that the popularity of this particular sector is set to grow even more over the months and years ahead. We have seen all of the controversy with regards to male only games and woman only games when the fact is that there is no real difference in playing standards. Each sex may possess different skills but they can both play to the top level!

Olivia ‘Liv’ Boeree has just been crowned the Ladbrokes European Ladies Champion, scooping the title from 52 other competitors. While Olivia has been involved in the sport for some time, as a commentator for some of the leading stations, she seems to have made the leap to Championship winner with no problems.

This is not the first time that Boeree has bagged a top ten finish but this is by far the biggest prize of her Poker career so far. Will we soon see male v female Championship play-offs? Watch this space.........
