PurePlay Beats The US Online Ban

While many of the lawmakers in the US may still be rubbing their hands with glee that they managed to close down an online sector which threatened their traditional Casino industry, it seems that the online sector is fighting back!

PurePlay.com has recently launched a legal alternative to Poker online which allows members to play Poker for ‘large pots of cash online’ with no risk of real money. Those who win through to the later tables of the online site will have the chance to claim a seat at the next World Series of Poker (WSOP) tournament – where there is some real money at stake!

It is an interesting idea which has completely beat the legal ban on online Poker, but what might be behind the move? What can it mean for the future?

While the chance to claim a seat at the WSOP could literally be worth thousands of dollars to the winner, what about the client base they will have built up if online Poker does make a comeback in the US? Each player is asked to provide their email address to take part in the free tournament, but each one is a potential customer as and when the US authorities decide to lift the online ban. Genius!
