Elizabeth confirmed for UHI charity tournament

Friday 16th May 2008

The sponsor of the Urban Health Institute charity poker tournament, which takes place tomorrow evening at the Playboy Mansion, has allayed fears that reigning champion Shannon Elizabeth will not be in attendance.

Card Player magazine announced this week that the American Pie star will be returning to defend her crown and put herself in with the chance of winning a seat at this year's World Series of Poker main event.

Elizabeth has yet to finish in the money in poker's biggest tournament, although she has made it inside the bubble in several other WSOP competitions.

Her highest place to date was a 33rd, which earned her $2,626.

Another actor with plenty of poker experience is Don Cheadle, who will also be playing at the Playboy Mansion again.

Cheadle reached the final table last time but was unable to prevent Elizabeth's triumph.

For those who do not manage to win the main prize, another $40,000 worth of rewards will be available.
